We love fall here in Colorado and loved our adventure up into Georgetown last year and decided to continue our adventures further west and set our sights on Aspen.
We’ve driven past Aspen on I-70, but neither of us had ever spent a night there. And since we wanted to see the aspens changing colors we figured Aspen was the perfect place for a weekend away to see the colors!
And, we had enough credit card points to cover our stay, making it an affordable staycation in Colorado. We booked our stay at the Limelight Snowmass hotel and really enjoyed our time there.
Review of our stay at the Limelight Snowmass hotel in Aspen

Location
We stayed in Aspen as we wanted to be able to take our time checking out the Maroon Bells. We did opt to use the shuttle service and it was about a 20-minute drive from our hotel to the bus station.
The hotel is well-situated for ski season as you’re at the base village and can easily get on the Sky Cab to Snowmass Village or take the Elk Camp Gondola.
We liked the location as we could walk to restaurants and enjoy the village without needing to move our car. The only driving we did on our trip was to the Maroon Bells, otherwise everything else we needed was right there in the village.
Our only regret is not making use of the hotel’s e-bikes as there were some lovely trails close to the hotel that would have been fun to explore if we had more time.
Accommodations

We booked a king room and received an upgrade when we checked in so we got a room on the top floor with a private balcony overlooking the village.
We had a great view from our room, which was incredible spacious. We had a King bed, TV, dining area, mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, sink, as well as dining utensils, plates, and drinkware. Our fridge had complimentary water bottles that would be refilled each day if we wanted. We did opt into their eco program and opted out of housekeeping for our stay.
The bed and bedding was very comfortable and cozy and we got great sleep during our stay.

Amenities
The hotel had some excellent amenities that we made great use of even during our two-night stay.
Bar & restaurant
There is a lounge area for breakfast, dinner, and for après ski with a daily happy hour from 4-6 p.m. The bar closes at 10 p.m. We were able to order at the bar and take our drinks back to our room to enjoy from our balcony.
You can also order in-room service from the lounge and one night we ordered their duck wings and pizza. Food was delivered quickly and we could order on our phones.
Breakfast
There is also a daily continental breakfast from 7-10 a.m. and it was a pretty decent spread. They had hot items like scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, veggies, and oatmeal. They also had pastries, breads, and cereals. A variety of juices, tea, water, and coffee was also available.
Fitness center
There is also an on-site fitness center with ellipticals, treadmills, and free weights. I never went to the gym but it was spacious and had decent equipment.
Parking
There is an on-site parking garage that’s easy to get to but it is expensive at $45 per night.
Pet-friendly
The hotel is pet-friendly and we saw plenty of people with dogs. They offer complimentary dog beds and water bowls for furry guests.

Pool & hot tub
We did make use of the hot tub on our first night and it was quite nice. The pool is heated as well so both were comfortable. The hot tub was spacious and at one point there were probably ten of us in it and there was still plenty of space for everyone.
The Edit
The Limelight is part of The Edit, which is a program through our Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. We got a few extra perks by booking through the program, such as a $100 resort credit (that could be used for parking), a welcome gift upon check-in, an upgrade (if available), early check-in and late check-out.
Price
Our rate would have been the equivalent of about $260 per night if we weren’t using credit card points to cover our stay. Rates do go up quite a bit come ski season, starting mid-December rates jump from around $560 to $860+.
We did see they had a fall special for Colorado residents, saving about 30% off a stay with a valid Colorado driver license. They also had a Golden Hour fall special of 30% off a three-night stay or more.
Overall we had a lovely two-night stay at the Limelight Snowmass in Aspen. The location was great for our needs, the room was comfortable, and we loved making use of the amenities, such as happy hour and the hot tub. It was a great choice for our stay in Aspen as we finally crossed Maroon Bells off our Colorado bucket list.
