Review: H10 Casa Mimosa in Barcelona

Last fall, we were introduced to the H10 brand of hotels thanks to my parents wanting to spend their anniversary in Spain!

We had checked out the H10 Villa de la Reina in Madrid and when we made our way up to Barcelona, we stayed at another property of theirs, the H10 Casa Mimosa.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a four-star stay in Barcelona.

H10 Casa Mila review

Neighborhood

The neighborhood was fantastic as we were within walking distance of so much! Right around the corner was La Pedrera (which could be seen from the hotel’s rooftop), Casa Battlo was close, and we walked a few times to Sagrada Familia.

There were also plenty of great restaurants and tapas bars within a 10-minute walk. One of our favorites ended up being Dora Tapas Bar which was literally around the corner.

Compared to our hotel stay in Madrid where we were on a main street, our stay in Barcelona was much quieter.

Accommodations

We were booked in a Deluxe Room, which was quite spacious. We had a Queen-sized bed, private bath, complete with a walk-in shower with two shower heads, a desk in the main area, and our room opened up to a small balcony overlooking the street.

In-room amenities included a safe, espresso machine, and complimentary bottles of water.

The mattress was quite comfortable and we had plenty of options for pillows. The bedding was cozy, too, and we both slept very soundly. There was hardly any noise coming from the streets below, nor could we hear any of our neighbors through the walls.

The free Wi-Fi was also appreciated and was quite fast for our needs (mainly uploading pictures to social media).

Amenities

El Til-ler bar & restaurant

Both the restaurant and lobby bar, this is where we had breakfast each morning and then returned later in the evening to get a glass of wine or two!

Breakfast was quite the spread as you could grab light bites from the buffet as well as order from a menu. One morning I tried the bagel with scrambled eggs, Iberian ham, and caramelized onions and the other morning I got the waffles with Nutella, and of course both mornings included an order of churros with chocolate sauce! From the buffet, you could find meats and cheese, vegetables, fruit, and bread. Our server brought us OJ and any coffee orders we had.

We had breakfast included with our room rate, but if you only want it certain mornings it would cost 26€.

Rooftop & pool

One of the best amenities of this hotel was the rooftop and pool. Though it was too chilly to use the pool, we would take glasses of wine up to the roof at night and enjoy the view of La Pedrera all lit up.

The rooftop was quiet (as it was late fall when we went), and had a lovely view. I would not mind spending some time in the water if we revisit Barcelona in the summer.

Refreshments

Like our stay at the H10 property in Madrid, this one also offered refreshments in the lobby. In the morning you could get water, coffee, or light pastries. In the afternoon, you could still get water or pour yourself a glass of cava to go with your brownie bite, chocolate, or other snacky item. If you don’t think we didn’t grab a glass of sparkling wine each time we got back to the hotel, you don’t know us at all!

Housekeeping

Our room was well taken care of and we actually never once saw housekeeping. They’ve hired ninjas apparently. But I did appreciate getting new bottles of water each day as well as a restock of our coffee.

Price

Luckily for us this trip was done by my parents so we didn’t have to pay for the hotels! Thanks, mom and dad!

But our room (a Deluxe Room) averaged out to $256 per night. That was booked under their bed & breakfast rate so it included daily breakfast in the rate, as well as under their winter sale promotion (5% off).

Location

The hotel is located at Pau Claris, 179, 08037, Barcelona. It was super walkable to all the things we wanted to, so we really only needed to take an Uber when we arrived in Barcelona and then when it was sadly time to head to the airport.

This was a great hotel in Barcelona and I’m glad we stayed at another H10 property. The staff at both were friendly and accommodating and the properties are well taken care of. They were very clean and very comfortable.
